Where a Vehicle Drops You, and Where It Should Collect You

Ask for a drop as close to the gates as the vehicle is permitted to go. Ask for the pickup somewhere else entirely. Those two instructions look contradictory, and together they are the most useful thing on this page.

Use the same point every night of the festival. By night two nobody needs to be told where it is.

Hotel Corridors and What Each One Costs in Minutes

Festival crowds do not all sleep downtown. Ocean Boulevard hotels put you closest to the gates. North Myrtle Beach puts a stretch of Highway 17 between you and the oceanfront. Plenty of groups rent houses in Surfside Beach or down toward Murrells Inlet, because four nights in a beach house beats four nights in a hotel corridor, and they pay for that in drive time twice a day.

Read those as ranges rather than promises. The low figure is a quiet morning; the high figure is a June Saturday with the festival running.
