Privacy Policy
What we collect when you post a trip, who ever sees it, how long we keep it, and how to have it removed. Written to be read, not skimmed past.
Best Limos of Myrtle Beach operates a blind bid marketplace for limousine and chauffeured transportation across the Grand Strand of South Carolina. This policy explains what personal information the site collects, why it is collected, who it is shared with, how long it is kept, and what you can ask us to do with it. It applies to this website and to bid requests and messages submitted through it.
Reading a privacy policy is nobody's idea of a good afternoon, so the structure below follows the order things actually happen: you visit, you post a trip, operators bid, you accept one, and the record ages out.
1. What This Policy Covers
This policy covers information handled by Best Limos of Myrtle Beach as the operator of this website and marketplace. It does not cover the independent transportation companies who bid on trips. Once you accept a bid, the operator you selected becomes responsible for the personal information you share with them directly, under their own privacy practices. We are not the carrier, and we do not control how a third party company stores a booking after it leaves this platform.
2. Information You Give Us
The bid request form is the main place we collect personal information. Depending on what you fill in, that includes:
- Your name, so a winning operator knows who they are collecting.
- Your email address, used to send you bids and booking correspondence.
- Your phone number, released only to the operator whose bid you accept.
- Trip details: occasion, date, pickup and drop off locations or route, pickup time, return time or hours needed, trip type, and passenger count.
- Anything else you choose to type, including notes about mobility needs, luggage, venues or timing.
The contact form collects your name, email address, a subject category and the content of your message. Please do not send payment card numbers, government identification numbers or medical details through either form. We do not need them, and we do not want to hold them.
3. Information Collected Automatically
Like most websites, ours records basic technical information when a page loads: IP address, browser type and version, device type, referring page, and the pages viewed with timestamps. This is standard server and analytics data used to keep the site working, understand which pages are useful, and identify abuse such as automated form submissions. We do not use it to build advertising profiles, and we do not run third party advertising trackers on this site.
4. How Blind Bidding Protects Your Contact Details
This is the part of the model that has the most direct effect on your privacy, so it is worth being precise about it. When you post a trip, licensed operators are shown the information they need to price the job: the occasion, the date and times, the route or locations, the trip type, the passenger count and any special requirements you noted. They are not shown your name, your email address or your phone number.
Operators cannot contact you while bidding is open, because they have no way to. Bids come back into the marketplace, not into your inbox from six different companies. If you never accept a bid, no operator ever receives your contact details, and the request simply expires.
5. What a Winning Operator Receives
When you accept a bid, and only then, we release your name, email address and phone number to that one operator, along with the trip details already visible to them. That transfer is the point of the transaction: they cannot confirm a pickup with someone they cannot reach.
Operators who did not win the bid receive nothing further. They are not told who accepted, what the winning price was, or how to contact you. Operators agree not to use rider information for marketing unrelated to the booking, and an operator who misuses rider details is removed from the network.
Information From Transportation Companies Who Apply
Riders are not the only people who submit information here. A transportation company applying to join the network gives us business details: the legal entity name, South Carolina business registration, the passenger carrier authority its vehicle class requires, proof of commercial livery insurance, vehicle photographs, and a contact person for the company. This is business information rather than consumer information, and we treat it separately from rider data.
We use it to decide whether to admit the company, to re-verify credentials on an ongoing basis, and to investigate complaints. Verification may involve checking what an applicant tells us against public registries and against the insurer or issuing authority named on a certificate. Applicants should assume that anything submitted in an application can be used in an admission or removal decision.
Admission is discretionary. As set out in our Terms of Service, we may approve or deny any application, and suspend or remove any operator, at any time and for any reason, and we are not obliged to explain a decision. Because those decisions and the complaints behind them can matter later, we keep application and vetting records, including records for companies we declined and companies we removed, for as long as we operate the network and for a reasonable period afterward. We do that so a company removed for cause cannot quietly reapply under a new listing.
We do not sell operator information, and we do not publish an applicant's documents. What riders see about an operator is limited to the company name, the vehicle offered, the credentials we have confirmed, and post-trip ratings from completed bookings. A company that wants to know what we hold about it, or wants its application data deleted after a decision, can ask through the contact form, and we will honor the request except where we need to keep a record of a removal for cause.
6. How We Use What You Give Us
We use personal information to run the marketplace and for nothing else. Concretely, that means distributing your trip to operators able to serve it, delivering bids to you, passing your details to the operator you choose, answering messages sent through the contact form, keeping records of bookings placed through the platform, calculating the success fee an operator owes on a won booking, investigating disputes or safety reports, and meeting legal obligations.
We do not sell personal information. We do not rent, trade or share it with lead brokers, marketing lists or data aggregators. The business model is a success fee paid by operators, which is described in plain terms on the about page, and it does not require selling anybody's phone number.
Payment Information
When you accept a bid and pay a booking deposit, the payment is handled by a third party payment provider. Your card details go directly to that provider. We do not receive, process or store your full card number, expiry date or security code. What reaches us is a confirmation that a payment succeeded, the amount, the date, and a token the provider uses to identify the transaction.
We keep those transaction records because we have to: they support refunds, disputes, tax reporting and our own accounting. Retention follows the periods that financial record keeping requires rather than the shorter windows that apply to an ordinary quote request, so a payment record will outlive the trip it relates to. The payment provider handles your card data under its own privacy policy and its own security certifications.
7. Cookies, Local Storage and Analytics
The site uses a small number of storage mechanisms, all of them functional:
- Accessibility preferences are saved in your browser's local storage so that choices such as high contrast, larger text or reduced motion persist between pages. That data stays on your device.
- Translation state is stored in a cookie set by Google Translate when you pick a language other than English, so the site stays translated as you move around it.
- Analytics and server logs record page views and technical details as described above.
You can clear cookies and local storage at any time through your browser settings. Clearing them resets your accessibility choices and returns the site to English.
8. Third Party Services on This Site
Three third party services can load in your browser when you use this site, and each one sees your IP address and basic request information as a result. We do not control what they do with it, so their own privacy policies apply.
- Google Translate powers the language control in the site header. Choosing a language sends page content to Google for translation and sets a cookie recording your choice.
- Google Maps is used on destination and venue pages to show locations and, in later phases of the build, place information. Loading a map contacts Google directly from your browser.
- Google Fonts serves the typefaces used across the site.
None of these services receive your bid request or contact form content from us.
9. How Long We Keep Information
We keep personal information only while it is doing a job. Once it is not, we delete it or strip the identifying parts out and keep the rest as aggregate figures that cannot be traced back to a person.
| Record | Kept while | Then |
|---|---|---|
| Bid request with no accepted bid | Bidding is open and for a limited period after it closes | Deleted or de-identified |
| Accepted booking | The trip is upcoming, then as a transaction record | Retained for accounting and dispute purposes, then deleted |
| Contact form message | We are handling it and for a limited period after | Deleted |
| Operator application | The application is open and while the operator is active | Deleted after the account closes |
| Server and analytics logs | Short technical retention windows | Aggregated or discarded |
If you want something removed sooner, ask. We will do it unless a specific record has to be kept to complete a transaction, resolve a dispute or satisfy a legal obligation, in which case we will tell you what is being held and why.
10. Your Rights and How to Use Them
Whatever your state of residence, we extend the same core rights to everyone who uses this site. You may ask us to:
- Confirm whether we hold personal information about you.
- Provide a copy of the information we hold.
- Correct information that is wrong or out of date.
- Delete your information, subject to the limits described above.
- Withdraw a live bid request so it stops being visible to operators.
- Stop receiving non transactional messages from us.
We will not charge you for making a request, and we will not treat you differently for having made one.
11. Children's Privacy
This site is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under thirteen, and the marketplace is not designed for use by them. Bookings involving minors, prom and school transportation being the obvious examples, are posted and accepted by a parent, guardian or other responsible adult, and the contact details we hold are theirs. If you believe a child has submitted personal information through this site, tell us through the contact form and we will delete it.
12. How We Protect Information
The site is served over an encrypted connection, access to marketplace records is limited to people who need it to operate the platform, and we keep the amount of personal information we hold deliberately small. No system is perfectly secure, and we will not claim otherwise. If a breach affects your personal information, we will notify affected users and any authority required by South Carolina or federal law within the time those laws allow.
13. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy as the platform develops, most likely when the booking and rating systems move out of the current build. When we do, the date at the top of this page changes. Material changes to how rider information is shared will be flagged on the site rather than buried in a revision. Continuing to use the marketplace after an update means you accept the revised policy.
14. Governing Law and How to Reach Us
This policy is governed by the laws of the State of South Carolina and applicable federal law of the United States, without regard to conflict of law principles. The marketplace serves the Grand Strand and operates from South Carolina.
All privacy questions, access requests and deletion requests go through the contact form. There is no phone number or email address on this site by design, and the form is monitored by the people who run the marketplace.
Post a Trip Without Handing Out Your Number
Operators bid on the trip, not on you. Your name, email and phone stay with us until you accept a bid, and no further if you never do.
